Staff
Omid Ahmadian
Senior Internet Application Developer
With over 19 years of experience building software products, Omid
now works as VolunteerMatch's Senior Internet Application Developer
to add new features and functionality to the VolunteerMatch site.
Prior to joining VolunteerMatch Omid worked at Zing.com (now Sony's
Imagestation) to create their E-Commerce component. He was also a
Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems, where he created software
solutions for load balancing and failover of Internet services.
Omid holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State
University, 1982. Outside of work he is interested in
sustainability projects in underdeveloped countries, and has a
passion for playing and coaching soccer.
Greg Baldwin
President & Member, Board of Directors
Greg Baldwin joined what is now VolunteerMatch in the spring of 1998 as its
Chief
Imagination Officer to finish hotwiring the Internet to help everybody find a
great
place to volunteer. Today, VolunteerMatch is a leader in the nonprofit world.
Its
popular web service is strengthening communities and organizations across the
country by making it easier for good people and good causes to connect. Greg
appreciates the power of a big idea. He began his career at the Leo Burnett
advertising agency where many big ideas were born and later tested his own as
a co-founder of 2d Interactive, Inc. -- a Boston-based technology start-up.
Greg
completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University in 1990 with a degree
in
Public Policy. He is a life-long volunteer and regularly speaks at nonprofit
events
and conferences on the subjects of volunteering, communication, and the
Internet.
Jennifer Bennett
Volunteer Program Manager
Jennifer joined VolunteerMatch to build and manage the organization's
volunteer engagement programs.
She has a strong commitment to making a difference in her community and brings
over ten years of
nonprofit management experience including seven years directly managing
volunteers and creating
and revitalizing volunteer programs to VolunteerMatch. Jennifer started her
work with nonprofits
in the wildlife rehabilitation and conservation field -- filling positions at
all levels from
rescuing wildlife in the field to running wildlife hospitals to serving as a
board member on
advisory boards. She currently volunteers with Save the Bay and Project
Homeless Connect.
She is an avid reader, enjoys yoga and travel (sometimes at the same time),
and knows lots of
things about birds. She holds a B.A. from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in
Lynchburg, VA.
Sarah Christian
Director, Strategic Partnerships
Sarah joined VolunteerMatch in July 2007 to build partnerships with nonprofit
organizations, associations, foundations and
corporations to expand and support civic engagement with older adults. She
brings over 25 years of experience working with
nonprofit organizations. Before VolunteerMatch she served as Director of
Volunteer Resource Development for the National
Multiple Sclerosis Society where she gained valuable insight into national
organizations. Previously, Sarah worked at the
Denver Museum of Nature and Science. As Manager of Museum Services she
developed a nationally recognized volunteer program
as well as led the Visitor Services, Retail Operations and Restaurant and
Catering Services departments. Sarah has served on
numerous nonprofit boards such as the Denver Audubon Society, Volunteers for
Outdoor Colorado, and the American Association for
Museum Volunteers. She studied at the San Francisco Art Institute. When she is
not working Sarah enjoys traveling and collecting folk art.
Alicia Crawford
Associate, Strategic Partnerships
Alicia joined VolunteerMatch in January 2008 to assist in building partnerships with nonprofit organizations,
associations, foundations and corporations to expand and support civic engagement with older adults.
She received her MFA in 2000 from the University of San Francisco. She also spent time as an instructor at the
University of San Francisco in the both the Composition and Master's of Fine Arts in Writing departments as well
as serving as adjunct faculty at City College of San Francisco. Over the last 15 years, she has worked in the
Bay Area for Senior Action Network, provided foster home care for dogs for Smiley Dog Rescue, assisted in the
design and development of multi-media educational toys, tutored GED students at the Next Step Learning Center
in Oakland, and co-founded a free website dedicated to creating forums for discussion and opportunities to
share best practices among educators who work with transfer and pre-transfer college students. Her spare time
is spent volunteering with the animal assisted therapy program at the SPCA, volunteering with the San Francisco
Community Living Campaign, walking her own dogs, reading for pleasure, traveling, teaching, and updating her website.
Ultimately, she aims to integrate her work-life with participation in movements for social change.
Jackie Dixon
Operations Manager
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Jackie Dixon joined VolunteerMatch in
January 2006 as Office Manager.
After completing her A.B. in Media Production and Management from BCFE in
Dublin, Jackie moved to the United
States in 2001 to work in the film & commercial TV industry as a production
coordinator. In 2006 she decided
to focus on a more rewarding and socially responsible career and - having long
admired VolunteerMatch's mission - was
delighted to join the team. She enjoys live music, travel and chatting on the
phone with her family.
Leslie Dolmage
Client Relations Manager
Born and raised in Iowa, Leslie graduated from Cornell College (not in Ithaca!) with a BA in German.
She spent her junior year in Munich, Germany, where she studied for two semesters through the JYM program at Wayne State University.
Leslie began her post-college years by joining the AmeriCorps and moving to Jacksonville, FL to work for Habitat for Humanity as a construction crew leader.
Returning to the Midwest, Leslie took a job in the insurance industry in Chicago.
After moving to San Francisco, she worked for a law firm and an internet search engine in recruiting. Finding her way back to the non-profit world, Leslie joined VolunteerMatch in 2008.
Leslie enjoys traveling, yoga, reading and Iowa Hawkeye Football.
Zeph Harben
Senior Application Engineer
Zeph joined VolunteerMatch in March 2008 with 7 years of experience in web application design. Prior to joining the team, he was Director of Information Technology at TRUSTe, an organization engaged in Internet Privacy. Zeph completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at Macalester College. His outside interests include writing, photography, biking and traveling. He has volunteered with Kiva.org, Citizen Schools and Mercy Housing.
Alex Holderness
Chief Operating Officer
Alex Holderness brings to VolunteerMatch over 15 years of professional
management experience.
A lifelong entrepreneur, Alex founded his first startup, Eleven East Records,
during college,
to serve needs of startup companies around the world in such diverse
industries as technology,
ecommerce, financial services, entertainment and consumer marketing. Prior to
joining VolunteerMatch,
Alex helped build and launch several businesses for eBay Inc., including eBay
Motors and eBay Travel.
Before eBay, he held positions as a Derivative Securities Analyst with Lehman
Brothers in New York City
and was a member of a $1 billion portfolio management team with Kemper Mutual
Funds in Chicago. Alex
grew up in a culture of service. As a child, his family hosted a group of six
political refugees from
Vietnam, one of whom was adopted by the family and became their older brother,
Pham. Alex earned his MBA
from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and his B.A. in
Political Theory from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an avid surfer, skier and photographer,
and plays music with his band in San Francisco.
Andrew Houghton
Director of Engineering
Andrew graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree
in Literary and Cultural Studies and Creative Writing. After three years
working for the university as a Senior Software Engineer and
teaching assistant, he moved to Austin, Texas and worked for
Trilogy Development Group on large-scale data integration and
data warehousing projects. He joined VolunteerMatch in early 2002.
Vicky Hush
Group Manager, Client Relations
Vicky works closely with corporate and nonprofit clients to help them
effectively build and use VolunteerMatch technology to engage their employees.
Recognizing the significant impact volunteers have each day at nonprofits
across the country, she strives to bring her communications skills and
first-hand knowledge of nonprofits needs to her clients. Prior to joining
VolunteerMatch, Vicky worked as the MS Walk Manager for the National
Multiple Sclerosis Society, where she helped the chapter raise a record
$1M-plus at a single event. Before moving to San Francisco, she worked
in the Washington, DC, area as a consultant for a variety of clients,
including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Vicky earned her BS
from Boston University's College of Communication. She enjoys traveling,
reading and the weather on the West Coast.
Kevin Johnson
Community Support Associate
Kevin began his career in music retail and eventually spent ten years working
for the Warner Music Group promoting artists such as Green Day, REM and
Madonna and acquiring a vast amount of experience in sales and marketing. A
native of upstate New York, Kevin grew up along the Hudson River before
growing tired of sub-zero temperatures. He studied literature at Arizona State
University in Tempe, AZ, and has called the Bay Area home since 1994. Today he
enjoys spending time with his young son, Hank, playing guitar and singing in
an alt country band, and living and dying with the Boston Red Sox.
Jennifer Kim Field
Director, VolunteerMatch Solutions
Based in Washington, D.C., Jen is responsible for working with corporations to
further their volunteering strategies to best meet the needs of the company,
its employees and their communities. Prior to joining VolunteerMatch in
October 2005, she worked as a strategy consultant for PwC Consulting (now IBM
Business Consulting), where she first developed her passion for workplace
volunteering. She volunteered to co-chair the firm's Washington, D.C. area
volunteer program, managing grants and volunteer activities for more than
5,000 employees. During the last four years, she honed her workplace
volunteering expertise at the Points of Light Foundation where she co-wrote
"Developing Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs." Jen earned her B.A.
from Bowdoin College in Maine. She enjoys biking, running, and seeing live
bands as she plans for a summer wedding.
Chris Koehler
Web Production Manager
Chris joined VolunteerMatch in the fall of 2007 to manage front end web production and graphic design needs. Formerly a journeyman designer, Chris has done a full range of projects, from web design to magazine illustration. Previous clients include Schwab Learning, Von Dutch, Los Angeles Youth Network, and Wired. Chris also pursues fine art, and has written, drawn, and self published over 10 books and has shown in numerous galleries and exhibitions. In the apparel world, he has partnered with Laurent Planeix and Phil Viardo of the VBX Group to launch the clothing line Marceau. In addition to full time web and design work, Chris teaches at the California College of the Arts.
Maura Koehler-Hanlon
Associate, Client Relations
Maura grew up on a small organic farm in Oregon and recently graduated from
Macalester College with a B.A. in International Studies and Studio Art.
Joining VolunteerMatch in October 2007, she comes to the team with a passion
for Corporate Responsibility. She has volunteered in a number of areas,
including serving as an after-school tutor for three years in Portland. Maura
loves to travel and has spent significant time in Turkey and Ecuador, as well
as four months in Northern Ireland where she interned for Children in
Crossfire, a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating human rights abuses on
children worldwide. She is an avid quilter and photographer and loves to camp
in the Pacific Northwest wilderness.
Julia Lee
Special Assistant, Office of the President
Julia Lee joined VolunteerMatch in the fall of 2006 to support the
communication and development activities associated with the Office of the
President. Julia earned her BA in English from UC Berkeley and her MFA in
Creative Writing from UMass, Amherst. Julia has lived and traveled in the UK
and held a variety of positions in the nonprofit sector. She has served as a
library assistant, counselor for troubled youth, and publication assistant for
an educational research agency. Julia brings her passion for writing and
storytelling to her new position. She has completed three short films and a
documentary about her marathon training. Julia strives to create art that she
hopes will move the world to think and change for the better.
Torrey Lippincott
Product Manager
Torrey joined VolunteerMatch to facilitate project management across the
organization. She has experience in both corporate and non-profit
environments, as well as a background in teaching. As a producer at Leapfrog
Enterprises, Torrey designed and managed educational software products. At the
Mendez Foundation she initiated and developed a nutrition education program
for children grades K-12. After earning a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from
the University of California at Santa Barbara and studying Educational Theory
at San Francisco State University, she began her career teaching preschool and
kindergarten in the Montessori system. She enjoys working towards positive
change, running in the Presidio, and reading.
Daryll Pierre
Applications Engineer
Daryll joined VolunteerMatch at the beginning of 2008. Prior to joining he
traveled around the world for a year visiting over 35 countries. For over 4
years he worked for The Biostatistics Center of George Washington University
where he built custom applications for Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet. He's a
native New Yorker, a new resident of the Bay Area, and holds a B.S. in
Mechanical Engineering from City College of New York.
Greg Price
Executive Officer, VolunteerMatch Solutions
Greg Price leads VolunteerMatch's Solutions group, responsible for expanding
new and renewal sales revenue from corporations and national nonprofits.
For 12 years at Oracle, Greg led teams that built US Support Sales revenue
from $40M to $1.1B; built the Support Sales team across Canada,
increasing revenue 47% in a year; refined Oracle Japan's support partner
program; and built the first team selling hosted Oracle Applications.
He then worked in start-ups developing strategic partnerships in the US and
Europe before taking a break from technology to reconnect with his
young family. Seeking a way to leverage his sales skills in a way that would
impact a "greater good," Greg joined VolunteerMatch in fall 2005.
By December 2006, the VolunteerMatch Solutions team doubled both the number of
our corporate clients and VolunteerMatch's earned revenue.
This furthers our mission of helping everyone find a great place to volunteer.
Greg has contributed to the boards of the SF Opera and SF Zoo
auxillaries and currently to the boards of the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley
and Ari Bhod, the American Foundation for Tibetan Cultural Preservation.
Robert J. Rosenthal
Director, Communications
Robert has spent a decade helping nonprofits and businesses align their
editorial and communications strategies with overall organizational
objectives. In 1998 he was among the first full-time staff at the Independent
Press Association. Later he was managing editor for several
ambitious dot-com enterprises, including Seniors.com. From 2002 to 2005 he
directed communications for a real estate developer while growing
his own consultancy with Northern California nonprofit clients such as the
Jewish Community Federation, the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit
Leadership, the Ecology Center, and Stockton's Dameron Hospital. Robert is an
avid guitarist (but beginning clarinetist) who also helps produce
websites as part of Taproot Foundation volunteer teams. He has A.B. degrees in
English and Art History.
Samir Shah
Senior Client Relationship Manager
Samir joined VolunteerMatch to cultivate valuable relationships with
socially responsible companies engaging in community involvement. By
helping corporate clients connect their employees to nonprofit volunteer
opportunities, he maximizes the social value of the VolunteerMatch
technology and corporate services. Samir has five years of experience in
the corporate sector. In sales and marketing roles, he has
successfully managed relationships with companies like Apple, Microsoft
and AT&T. In 2004, Samir became involved with civic engagement by
actively participating in the Presidential election. He is currently a
tutor at the Tenderloin Boys and Girls Club. Samir studied Economics at
the University of Texas at Austin and has an MA in Asian Studies from UC
Berkeley.
Dianna Smith
Director, VolunteerMatch Solutions
Dianna Smith brings twelve years of corporate financial services background to
VolunteerMatch with a specialty in strategic planning and business
development. She helps Fortune 1000 companies develop employee volunteerism
programs that align business objectives with the needs of the communities
in which they operate and their employees interests. Dianna has a long history
of volunteering in Health and Human Services, Literacy, and Civil Rights.
Most recently, she has been very active in election integrity, taking a six
month sabbatical to speak with Secretaries of State and Election Officials
about transparency and election equipment. She earned her Bachelor of Science
degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado, Boulder and completed
her graduate work in Financial Planning at the John Anderson School of
Business at UCLA.
Seth Thompson
Account Manager, VolunteerMatch Corporate Solutions
Seth brings to VolunteerMatch a variety of volunteer and corporate experience. In 2004-2005, he volunteered for a year with AmeriCorps doing environmental education and conservation work in Cape Cod, Mass. Upon arriving in San Francisco, Seth worked as a media planner at Mediaedge:CIA. Seth joined VolunteerMatch in October 2006 as an Associate in the Corporate Solutions department, where he discovered the perfect marriage for his volunteering and corporate experiences. Seth was promoted in 2007 to Account Manager in our Corporate Sales Department. Seth holds a B.A. in American Studies from Hobart College in Geneva, NY. He enjoys hiking, cooking, and is a big Boston Red Sox fan.
Molly Trezise
Associate, Client Relations
Molly joined the VolunteerMatch team to help corporations and nonprofits implement and develop volunteering programs. Originally from Portland, Ore., Molly is happy to be back on the West Coast after attending Wellesley College in Massachusetts. At Wellesley, Molly majored in United States history and volunteered at local elementary schools tutoring kindergarteners with reading. In her free time, Molly enjoys drawing, painting and otherwise being creative. She is passionate about running and one day hopes to return to Massachusetts to run the Boston Marathon.
Dee Webster
Community Support Associate
Dee brings to the VolunteerMatch team diverse work experience including management, personnel recruitment, sales, marketing and finance. Having recently retired from Fidelity Investments, she has a keen interest in Boomer engagement in the nonprofit sector. Dee grew up in the Midwest, lived abroad for several years, and raised her children on the East Coast before moving to Texas. She has been active in community service all her adult life, and spent a decade as a recruiter/organizer with Freedom Valley Girl Scout Council in Valley Forge, Pa. Most recently she spent a week in Costa Rica with UMC Volunteers in Mission. Dee has been married nearly forty years to husband Phil. They have traveled extensively, and go to Texas as often as possible to spend time with their adult children and young grandsons.

Nick Allen
Founder and CEO, Donordigital
Nick Allen is founder and CEO of Donordigital, a San Francisco-based company
that works with nonprofit
organizations to develop and manage their online fundraising, advocacy, and
communications programs.
Donordigital clients include the ACLU, Amnesty International, the U.S. Fund
for UNICEF, CARE, Human Rights
Campaign, the Humane Society of the United States and others. Nick was
co-editor of the first book on online
fundraising, Fundraising on the Internet (Jossey-Bass), and has led workshops
for the Direct Marketing Association,
the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and the International
Fundraising Conference in the Netherlands.
Nick has twenty-five years of experience building nonprofit organizations,
raising money, organizing, and in media
and public relations. He founded Donordigital when he was Director of Creative
and Consulting Services at Mal Warwick
& Associates, the direct mail firm. He was Foudner and Executive Director
of Neighbor to Neighbor, and Washington
Director of Fenton Communications, a public relations firm that works on
issues of public interest. In the early 1990s,
he spent three years based in Prague, training environmental activists across
Central and Eastern Europe.
Jay Backstrand
Co-Founder, VolunteerMatch
As Co-Founder and former President of VolunteerMatch, Jay returned to the
organization in July, 2004, after completing his Master's degree at the Sloan
Business Program at Stanford University. Jay has joined the VolunteerMatch
Board of Directors, and continues to benefit the organization by sharing the
knowledge he gained from his year of study in the Sloan Program, especially in
the areas of leadership, strategy, and organizational development. A graduate
of Brown University and The
John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies,
Jay began his career as a Marketing Manager at Sun Microsystems.
Sun was a principal sponsor of NetDay, a community service
initiative that mobilized over 25,000 volunteers to connect nearly
3,000 California schools to the Internet in a single day. As a key
organizer of NetDay, Jay realized the Internet's power to make a
difference. In 1998, he launched VolunteerMatch with the aim of
helping everyone easily find volunteer opportunities in their local
communities. Jay volunteers for hunger organizations and
environmental causes.
Deborah Dinkelacker
Chief Operating Officer, The Medicare Rights Center & Former President, VolunteerMatch
Deborah has over 25 years of management experience in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. In her business career, Deborah held senior management roles in marketing at Colgate Palmolive, American Express, Bank of America, and Providian Financial. In the nonprofit world, Deborah served as National Marketing Director for the Sierra Club, and, more recently, as President of VolunteerMatch from 2003 to 2006. She is currently Chief Operating Officer for the Medicare Rights Center in New York City, a national non-profit organization committed to helping all people understand their rights and benefits under Medicare. Deborah graduated from Yale University with a major in Political Science, and from the New York University Graduate School of Business with an MBA in Finance. As a volunteer, Deborah has worked with the Taproot Foundation to support the work of Juma Ventures in San Francisco; she has served as a volunteer with Business Volunteers for the Arts in San Francisco; and from 2005 to 2007, served on the Board of Trustees for the Museum of Craft and Folk Art, as its Treasurer, and Chair of the Finance Committee.
Stouffer Egan
Chief Executive Officer, Autonomy Inc - U.S.
Stouffer Egan, has served as CEO of Autonomy Inc. since 2002. Autonomy is a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise and is spearheading the meaning-based computing movement. Prior to joining Autonomy, Stouffer was Vice President of Corporate Development for Dataware Technologies. Stouffer started his career at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals. Stouffer holds a B.A. in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
John S. Gomperts
President, Civic Ventures & CEO, Experience Corps
A leader in the national service movement for more than a decade,
John Gomperts is the CEO of Experience Corps, the national program
mobilizing older Americans to mentor and tutor low-income children,
and President of Civic Ventures, the think tank incubator that is
reframing older adult civic engagement in America. Prior to this,
John Gomperts most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the
Public Education Network, the nation's largest network of community-based
school reform organizations, and Chief of Staff of the Corporation for
National and Community Service, the federal agency that administers
AmeriCorps,
Learn and Serve America, and the National Senior Service Corps. Gomperts has
also worked in senior positions in the U.S. Senate, first as legislative
director
for Senator Harris Wofford of Pennsylvania, and then as deputy director of the
Senate Democratic Leadership Committee working for Senators Tom Daschle of
South
Dakota and John Kerry of Massachusetts. An attorney, Gomperts clerked for a
federal judge,
practiced law at a major law firm, and worked for a leading civil liberties
organization.
He also was an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law School. He is
currently
a national board member at Hands On Network.
Paul Hurley
Founder and CEO of Ideeli™
Paul has more than 20 years' experience solving the problem at the crux of brand marketing today: How to use technology to connect with and influence the behavior of large numbers of customers and prospects? In a succession of entrepreneurial companies, beginning in 1989, Hurley has united service delivery with marketing and proved that integrated advertising can be performed in a manner benefiting both customer and brand. Hurley's first company, Cypress Research Corporation, combined e-commerce with embedded upgrade and commerce technology years in advance of the Internet. Cypress Shopper, a component of the company's MegaPhone fax software for Macs and PCs, shipped over 10 million copies in 23 countries. Hurley's second company, Aveo, invented the now-pervasive concept of pre-emptive technical support, and their products were adopted by Hewlett Packard, Gateway, Dell, Kensington and Logitech. Hurley's third company, Alset, Inc., has helped leading brands such as Best Buy and Micro Warehouse use the Internet to simultaneously improve service and marketing. Paul Hurley is co-inventor for two US patents. He graduated from Yale College and is a Henry Crown Fellow of The Aspen Institute.
Craig Jacoby
Partner, Cooley Godward LLP
Craig Jacoby is Co-Founder and Chairman of VolunteerMatch. Mr. Jacoby is a
partner at the law firm of Cooley Godward LLP in San
Francisco where he has a general business and corporate practice with a
particular focus on serving the needs of venture capital
investors and the entrepreneurial companies in which they invest. He graduated
from Stanford Law School, where he wrote the HTML
code for the first-ever Web-based brief to the United States Supreme Court,
and received an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of
Advanced International Studies. He also served as a judicial clerk to a
federal judge. Before that, he spent a year cavorting in
Rome on a Fulbright Fellowship. He has published articles on the intellectual
property rights of indigenous farming communities and
on the postmodernism of Italian film director Silvio Soldini. He has a B.A. in
English and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Kellie A. McElhaney, PhD
Consultant, Professor & Executive Director, Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley
Dr. McElhaney is the John C. Whitehead Professor of Corporate Responsibility and the founding Executive Director of the Center for Responsible Business at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Professor McElhaney teaches courses on Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility, which include in-depth, experiential consulting engagements with companies on high-visibility strategic CSR challenges, in all of the MBA degree programs at Haas. Kellie consults to several Fortune 500 companies in developing integrated CSR strategy, bridging her academic focus with the practitioner world.
Vincent Stehle
Program Officer, Surdna Foundation
Vincent Stehle is the Program Officer for the Nonprofit Sector
Support Program at the Surdna Foundation, a family foundation based
in New York City with assets approaching $650 million. Surdna also
makes grants in the areas of Community Revitalization, Environment,
Creating an Effective Citizenry, and the Arts. The Nonprofit Sector
Support Program focuses on strengthening the policy and advocacy
role of nonprofits, their internal management and their ability to
deal with a changing political, economic and technological
environment. As part of its efforts to improve nonprofit
management, Surdna has focused considerable resources toward the
effective use of new information and communications technologies.
Before coming to Surdna, Mr. Stehle worked for ten years as a
reporter for the Chronicle of Philanthropy, where he covered
fundraising and management issues for the nonprofit sector. In
addition, he has written extensively for other publications,
including "The Washington Post," "The Nation," "Foundation News and
Commentary," and other magazines and journals. Mr. Stehle is a
member of both the Board of Directors of the Nonprofit Technology
Enterprise Network (NTEN), and the Board of Directors of the New
York Regional Association of Grantmakers (NYRAG). He has served on
the VolunteerMatch Board since 2001.

Andrew Blau
Co-Head of Practice, Global Business Network
Blau is the co-head of the GBN practice with extensive experience in media and communications, information technology and networking, philanthropy, and public policy. Formerly, he was a strategy consultant specializing in information technology and digital media, and a program director at two foundations, where he ran programs on technology policy. He is the president of the board of WITNESS, an international human rights organization.
Katherine H. Campbell
Executive Director, Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration
Katie Campbell has worked in the field of nonprofit and volunteer resources management for 30 years as practitioner, author, trainer and leader. She served as director of the Virginia Office of Volunteerism, and from 1997 to 2003 she served as executive director of the international Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA). In addition to her current role with CCVA, Katie does independent consulting and teaches as adjunct faculty at Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Virginia.
Vinton Cerf
Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist, Google
Cerf is widely recognized as the "Father of the Internet." He is
co-inventor of the computer networking protocol, TCP/IP, which has
become the language for Internet communications.
Christine Comaford Lynch
Founder, Mighty Ventures
Comaford-Lynch is a former venture capitalist and angel investor. As an
entrepreneur she has founded 5 startups that were acquired or went public.
Today
she helps entrepreneurs build better startups faster. She has been involved in
the creation of over 36 companies over the past 15 years and is an active
nonprofit volunteer and fundraiser.
Thomas Dunn
Chief Financial Officer of the Court Appointed Special Advocates
Association
He has been with the National CASA Association since January 2000, managing
both the
accounting and MIS functions of the organization. He worked in private
industry for 10 years,
before moving to nonprofits. His motivation in working with nonprofits is to
make a difference in communities of need.
Marc Freedman
CEO & Founder, Civic Ventures
Freedman is a respected thought leader, author, and voice in the nonprofit sector. His book, Prime Time was a catalyst for the current national dialogue on the aging of America and the tremendous potential for contribution by experienced Americans in their 60's and 70's.
John Gage
Chief Scientist, Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Gage represents Sun interests in the research and academic
communities worldwide. He was also the founder of NetDay96.
Cynthia M. Gibson, PhD
Principal, Cynthesis Consulting
Cynthia Gibson has more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, serving in senior staff positions and as a consultant to hundreds of national nonprofit organizations, including philanthropic institutions, across the country. Currently the principal of nonprofit consulting firm specializing in program development, strategic planning, and communications, Gibson also speaks and has published widely about nonprofit strategy/issues, civic engagement, and democracy. Previously, she served as a program officer at Carnegie Corporation of New York in the area of Strengthening U.S. Democracy, developing and overseeing two subprograms in Strengthening the Nonprofit and Philanthropic Sector and Youth Civic Engagement. Gibson teaches at the New School University's Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy; is a senior fellow at Tufts University; and has served on numerous advisory committees, selection panels and boards, including Nonprofit Quarterly, Public Allies, Idealist.org, The November Fifth Coalition, and Whatgoesaround.org.
Steve Glikbarg
Investment Advisor
Steve Glikbarg is a co-founder of ImpactOnline, the nonprofit
which launched VolunteerMatch in 1998. Mr. Glikbarg was
co-executive director of ImpactOnline during 1995, a critical year
in the establishment of the organization. In the past, Mr. Glikbarg
served on the board of directors of the National Civic League, Who
Cares Magazine and Katmango Inc. Currently Mr. Glikbarg works as an
investment advisor in Santa Barbara, CA.
Andy Goodman

Goodman is a master storyteller. His mission is to help nonprofit organizations and foundations frame their histories, stories, and organizational needs into compelling narrative. His clients have included the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Environmental Defense, and the Pew Charitable Trusts.
William R. Hearst III
Partner, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers
Hearst was editor and publisher of the San Francisco Examiner from
1984 until 1995, and joined KPCB in 1995. He serves on numerous
boards, is a fellow of the AAAS, a trustee of the Carnegie
Institution of Washington, and a trustee of the California Academy
of Sciences.

Charles H. Moore
Executive Director, Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy
Moore is executive director of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, the international forum of business CEOs and chairpersons dedicated to corporate philanthropy. Since winning a gold medal in the 1952 Summer Olympics, Moore has actively served in the fields of education, international business and finance, athletic administration, and the arts. He currently serves on a variety of boards and committees for the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Pam volunteers with Community Services, mainly assisting nonprofit
organizations. After practicing law in San Francisco for over 25 years, she
retired and began volunteering at VolunteerMatch in 2002 to get an overview of
the ways in which nonprofits can be helped by volunteers. She has continued to
volunteer with VolunteerMatch because she likes the people she works with and
believes in the VolunteerMatch mission. Pam has an A.B. in Philosophy from the
University of California, Santa Cruz, and a J.D. from Boalt Hall, the
